That is a seriously menacing looking caterpillar. The spikes look as though they could inflict damage. The hairy caterpillars at Mbale were at least cute although capable of inflicting pain.
It definitely looks menacing! We’ve also got little cute ones which leave their furry barbs in your skin. Our friends are terrified of caterpillars, much more so than spiders!

Will be intriguing to see what they hatch out to, when they pupate….you could have a rubbish pit alive with butterflies 🙂
True story! From googling them, I’m fairly sure its a huge “cabbage tree emperor moth”. I’ve seen a couple of these around too.
