I never thought I’d write a food blog, but since I am, it should be a bit ridiculous and moderately pretentious. Otherwise it wouldn’t be a food blog right?
All the woman were telling me I had to cook for Tessa on international woman’s day, so I thought it was time for something novel in this part of the world. Fish Burgers
One filleted Tilapia fish ( Must be freshly caught from the Nile River)
Two Local Free range eggs (If you haven’t picked them from your neighbour’s henhouse, forget about it)
3 cloves garlic
1 Carrot (All above be from an open air local farmer’s market)
2 dirty red onions (If its not dirty, its probably genetically modified right?)
2 pieces mouldy stale bread which naturally form breadcrumbs almost immediately after touching. (The secrets of breadmaking have not yet reached here, I’ll be honest)
4 Burger buns
A wee bit of salt and flour
Heinz Ketchup! (Globalisation has its advantages)
Must be cooked with charcoal produced from a protected rainforest nearby
Throw the eggs, flour, salt and breadcrumbs together then toss the fish in. Fry the fish for a couple of minutes
Toast the burger buns
Fry the vegetables in a little bit of whatever fat tickles your fancy. Throw them and the fish on the bun and eat relatively quickly. Food is usually better hot. Add unnecessary amounts of ketchup.
Serves 4, or 2 if you gorge yourself to severe nausea like us.
